ATHLETICS - Veronica Campbell-Brown is 30 years old today. She is one of only seven athletes to win a world championship gold at the youth, junior and senior levels of an athletic event. The other athletes are Valerie Adams, Usain Bolt, Jacques Freitag, Yelena Isinbayeva, Jana Pittman and Dani Samuels. With Usain Bolt, she is the only one to have accomplished this for Jamaica.

RUGBY UNION - Jonah Lomu is 37 years old today. He is quite possibly one of the most intimidating figures ever to set foot on a rugby pitch. A freakish combination of speed and power, Lomu needed not run around or even hurdle his opponents. He simply plowed through them. The 1995 World Cup was his championship, even though his All Blacks lost the final against South Africa.
