REVIEW: Breakaway blood passed down in Rabottini
CYCLING - Matteo Rabottini is the winner of Stage 15 of the 2012 Giro d’Italia, which only narrowly saw the 24-year-old fend off an attack by Joaquim Rodríguez. The victory drew up memories of his father, Luciano Rabottini, who won the 1st stage and the general classification of the 1986 Tirreno Adriatico after a long breakaway. Senior also finished the Giro on nine separate occasions.

BREAKING - Bertrand first CL debutant in a final
FOOTBALL - Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand has become the first player to make his Champions League debut in a final. We have found two cases of players making their European debut in a Champions Cup (1955-1992) final. In 1979 Trevor Francis scored in the final in his European debut for Nottingham Forest and in 1982 Nigel Spink helped Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich.
