BIRTHDAY - 21 May: Mark Cavendish (Cycling)
CYCLING - Mark Cavendish is 26 years today. The Team Sky speedster has won 31 stages in the Grand Tours and two Points Classification jerseys. In 2011 he became the Road World Champion and the BBC Sports Personality of the year. His 20 Tour de France stage wins have taken him to 6th place on the all-time list.

REVIEW: Proud Napoli return Coppa to the 'Boot'
FOOTBALL - Napoli have won the 2011/2012 Coppa Italia and they are the only side from the southern part of Italy to have won it. For the first time in 25 years, the Italian Cup is travelling south. REVIEW: Breakaway blood passed down in Rabottini
CYCLING - Matteo Rabottini is the winner of Stage 15 of the 2012 Giro d’Italia, which only narrowly saw the 24-year-old fend off an attack by Joaquim Rodríguez. The victory drew up memories of his father, Luciano Rabottini, who won the 1st stage and the general classification of the 1986 Tirreno Adriatico after a long breakaway. Senior also finished the Giro on nine separate occasions.

FOOTBALL - Roger Milla is 60 years old today. Milla is a retired footballer who played three World Cups for Cameroon. He is remembered not only for his exuberant celebrations, but also for being the oldest player to ever appear and score in a World Cup match. He was 42 years old when he netted against Russia in the 1994 World Cup.

BREAKING - Bertrand first CL debutant in a final
FOOTBALL - Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand has become the first player to make his Champions League debut in a final. We have found two cases of players making their European debut in a Champions Cup (1955-1992) final. In 1979 Trevor Francis scored in the final in his European debut for Nottingham Forest and in 1982 Nigel Spink helped Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich.

CYCLING - Andrey Amador has become the first cyclist from Costa Rica to win a stage in one of the three Grand Tours, as he emerged victorious in the 14th stage of the Giro d’Italia on Saturday.
