FOOTBALL - The 35th matchday of the 2011/2012 La Liga season is upon us. Will Real Madrid become champions? If Real Madrid win and FC Barcelona lose they will capture La Liga 2011/2012.
Real Madrid - Sevilla
Head to Head
> Earlier this season, Real won 6-2 at Sevilla with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick. He can become the first player in 18 years to score two hat-tricks against the same opponent in a single La Liga season. The last player to do this was Romário for FC Barcelona vs Atlético Madrid in 1993/94. The last Real Madrid player to achieve this feat was Fernando Hierro vs RCD Espanyol in 1991/92.
Real Madrid
> Real have scored a La Liga record 109 goals this season. Their goal difference is currently +79. The record in the Spanish top flight is +74 and was achieved by FC Barcelona in 2009/10 and 2010/11.
> Real are unbeaten in their last 19 league matches (16-3-0) since losing to Barcelona in December. The last time a club had an unbeaten streak of at least 20 matches in the Spanish top flight was by FC Barcelona - 31 matches (27-4-0) last season.
Sevilla FC
> Sevilla recorded a 0-0 draw at Camp Nou earlier this season. The last club to avoid defeat at Barcelona and Real Madrid in the same season was RCD Espanyol in 2008/09 – drawing 2-2 at Bernabéu and winning 2-1 at Camp Nou.
> Club top scorer Álvaro Negredo (12 goals) has scored in each of Sevilla’s last three league matches. He is the last Sevilla player to score in four or more La Liga matches in a row, netting in six straight between May and September 2011.
Rayo Vallecano - FC Barcelona

> Barça have not won in their last four visits to Vallecano (0-2-2), losing the last two – 2-1 in January 2002 and 1-0 in December 2002. The only other club that has avoided defeat against Barça in their last four home matches is Numancia (1999-2008).

> The last time Barça failed to win in four consecutive matches in all competitions was in February-March 2009 when they had a streak of five without a win vs Real Betis (2-2, La Liga), RCD Espanyol (1-2, La Liga), Olympique Lyon (1-1, Champions League), Atlético Madrid (4-3, La Liga) and RCD Mallorca (1-1, Copa del Rey).
> Lionel Messi has scored in each of Barcelona’s last six away matches in La Liga for a total of nine goals. Cristiano Ronaldo is also on a streak of six. No player this century has scored in seven straight away matches
