REVIEW - Serena Williams wins 5th Wimbledon title
TENNIS - Serena Williams beats Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets to win her 5th Wimbledon title. She overcame Petra Kvitová (4) in the quarterfinals, Victoria Azarenka (2) in the semifinals and Radwanska (3) in the final.
> Serena won her 5th Wimbledon title, leveling her sister Venus. Martina Navratilova (9) and Steffi Graf (7) are the only players who won more than five women’s singles titles at Wimbledon in the Open era.
> It has been almost 13 years ago (US Open 1999) when Serena won her first Grand Slam title. This is the biggest gap between the first and last Grand Slam title for a tennis player in the Open era (since 1968).
> For the third time Serena managed to beat three of the top four seeds in the same Grand Slam. She already achieved this in the 1999 US Open and in the 2005 Australian Open.
> The last seven women’s singles Grand Slam finals have all been won by different players. This is the longest streak since we had 8 different winners between Roland Garros 2004 and Australian Open 2008.
