BIRTHDAY - 16 July: Miguel Induráin (Cycling)

CYCLING - Miguel Induráin is 48 years old today. The Spaniard dominated the Tour de France in the early 1990s, becoming the first rider to win the race five times in a row, a feat that was later equalled by Lance Armstrong. “El Rey” was an expert time trialist and a keen defender in the mountain stages. He also won the Giro d’Italia twice and an Olympic gold medal in the time trial in 1996.
