REVIEW: Germany fail to beat Argentina once again at home

FOOTBALL - Germany lost 1-3 at home against Argentina in their friendly match-up in Frankfurt am Main on Wednesday. ‘Die Mannschaft’ are now winless in their last seven home matches against Argentina. This ties the record for consecutive home matches without a win against a specific opponent for Germany.

 

• The last time Germany defeated Argentina at home was in West Berlin in April 1988 (1-0). Lothar Matthäus scored the only goal in the friendly match.
• Germany also failed to win seven successive home matches against England between 1908 and 1965. Those were the first seven matches between these two countries in Germany.
