It is all even after 220 El Clásicos
FOOTBALL - After FC Barcelona’s win last night, the head-to-head between Real Madrid and Barça is deadlocked at 87-46-87. If Barcelona beat Real next week in Bernabéu, the Blaugranas will lead the H2H for the first time in more than 80 years. That was before Real Madrid defeated Barça 2-0 in 1931 in the 14th El Clásico.
Lionel Messi
- Lionel Messi equalled Barça’s record of scoring 14 goals in El Clásicos. César Rodriguez also scored 14 goals for Barça in his career.
- Only Real Madrid players Alfredo Di Stefano (18) and Raúl (15) have scored more often in El Clásico.
- This was 55th goal for Messi for his club and country in 2012. He is five goals shy of his record total of 60 goals he scored in 2010.
- The Argentine striker became the first player ever to score in four consecutive Spanish Super Cup editions.
Cristiano Ronaldo
- Cristiano Ronaldo opened the score and became the first Real Madrid player to score in four consecutive El Clásicos at Camp Nou.
- He became the third player from Real Madrid to score in four successive El Clásicos (both stadiums) following Ivan Zamorano (record total 5) and Lecue (4).
