FOOTBALL - Click Read More to see some key facts concerning Friday’s World Cup qualifier between Netherlands and Turkey.

The only time Turkey beat Oranje in the Netherlands was their first meeting, a friendly in 1958. At the Olympic Stadium, Turkey won 2-1.

The last time a Turkish player scored against Oranje in an away match was during a World Cup qualifier in 1993, when Feyyaz Uçar scored in a 3-1 win for Netherlands in Utrecht.

Louis van Gaal starts his second tenure as Dutch national team coach. He lost his first match, a friendly against Belgium in August. The last Dutch coach to lose the first two matches in a specific tenure was Guus Hiddink in 1995, when he lost back-to-back friendlies against France and Portugal.

Oranje are unbeaten in all 16 competitive matches at the Amsterdam ArenA, winning 12 and drawing four. This includes the semifinal of the 2000 European Championship, when they drew with Italy 0-0. Italy advanced to the final after winning the penalty shoot-out.

Oranje have won their last eight World Cup qualifiers and are unbeaten in their last 22, since their defeat at Ireland in September 2001 (1-0). That match was under Louis van Gaal and made the Netherlands miss out on the World Cup for the first time since 1986.
