FOOTBALL - Chelsea defeated Stoke City 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday. The Blues became the second team to score four goals in one PL match in this stadium. Stoke achieved this feat against Newcastle United in March 2011 (4-0).
- Before today, Stoke had the longest current home unbeaten run in the English top flight. This is now in the hands of Luton Town, who stayed unbeaten in their last eight home matches before being relegated in 1992. This streak can be equalled by Manchester United on Sunday if they avoid defeat against Liverpool.
- Luton were also the last team which defeated Stoke at their own ground in the English top flight by at least a four goal margin, when they won 4-0 in 1985.
- Besides their defeat today, the only other official home match in which Stoke lost by at least four goals this century was against Liverpool in the League Cup in November 2000 (8-0).
