REVIEW: Prolific Liverpool equal PL club record

imageFOOTBALL – Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-0 on Saturday. Five different players netted for The Reds, equalling the club record of most different goalscorers for the club in one Premier League match. They previously set this record in January 1999 when Liverpool beat Southampton 7-1. Robbie Fowler (3x), Dominic Matteo, Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen and David Thompson scored in that match.



  • One month ago Chelsea set the record of most different goalscorers for one club in a Premier League match, when seven players of The Blues netted against Aston Villa (8-0).
  • Liverpool claimed their biggest Premier League victory since beating Birmingham City 5-0 at home in April 2011.
  • Daniel Sturridge became only the third player in history to score in each of their first two Premier League appearances for Liverpool. He followed in the footsteps of Nigel Clough who did so in August 1993 and Milan Baroš in September 2002.
