REVIEW: Fifth tier team Luton Town knock out PL side

imageFOOTBALL – Fifth tier Luton Town ousted Premier League club Norwich City from the FA Cup on Saturday. It was the first time a fifth tier or lower level team beat a top flight club in a FA Cup away match since Altrincham beat Birmingham City 1-2 on 14 January 1986.

 

  • The last non-league team to oust a Premier League club from the FA Cup was Sutton Town when they beat Coventry City 2-1 in their third round home match on 7 January 1989.
