FOOTBALL - The Classic of Dutch league football is only hours away, as Ajax and Feyenoord are preparing for battle. We have researched the strength in attack for both teams and turned them into an Infographic. It reveals the team’s accuracy level and their danger men.
FOOTBALL – The Eredivisie begins again this weekend with PSV and FC Twente on 40 points, three points ahead of Ajax and Feyenoord who meet in this weekend’s second “Klassieker” of the season. Vitesse are a further two points back in fifth. Ajax have come from behind to win the Eredivisie title in the last two seasons and also nearly did so in 2009/2010, falling just short after closing the deficit with champions FC Twente from nine points to one in the last 16 matches. Can Ajax repeat these feats?
FOOTBALL - The Dutch top flight Eredivisie returns from its winter break and the feature match involves the teams that ranked first and second in points accumulated in the 2012 calendar year, Ajax and Feyenoord. These teams make up ‘The Classic’ (‘De Klassieker’) of Dutch football. Click on the picture to enable interactive features.
FOOTBALL - Ajax host PSV this Saturday in the Dutch top flight’s marquee match this weekend and the defending champions must prepare for an avalanche of shots from the visitors, who are the most active in front of the opponents’ goal among teams playing in one of Europe’s top domestic leagues this season.
FOOTBALL - Feyenoord’s second place in last season’s Eredivisie was their best league performance for 11 years whilst the six point deficit between them and champions Ajax was the closest that the Rotterdammers had come to winning the title since 2002/2003 when they finished third, four points behind champions PSV. Their fifth place in the current league table might therefore be seen as a disappointment but the league table is not telling the whole story.
FOOTBALL - High-flying Vitesse are only the fourth side in Eredivisie history to win at both Ajax and PSV in the season. They thereby follow in the footsteps of AZ ‘67 (1980/1981), sc Heerenveen (2008/2009) and ADO Den Haag (2010/2011). Of the other three AZ ‘67 were the only ones to collect away victories at Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord - the traditional Big Three of Dutch football - in the same season.
FOOTBALL - After a week of voting, we have a winner. The people’s choice for Best Goal of the 2011/2012 Eredivisie season is Ajax’ Ismail Aissati for this goal against PSV that garnered 21% of the votes. Also making the top three are ADO Den Haag’s Lex Immers (16%) and Feyenoord’s Jerson Cabral (15%). Thank you all for voting! Did you enjoy this? If you did, we might be back next season with a Goal of the Month.

FOOTBALL - After having been 13 points behind the table leaders in November, Ajax have made a successful comeback and now top the Eredivisie table. Out of the top 6 squads in the Eredivise, Ajax have averaged to field only 64% of their opening day starting line-up this season. Which begs the question how important a deep bench is.
FOOTBALL - If you have checked the latest update of the Euro Club Index, you will have found that Ajax are heavy favourites to win the Dutch top flight crown this season. However, a persistent recent trend reveals that defending wins it over scoring goals.
