TENNIS - Novak Djokovic will face Andy Murray in the final of the ATP Masters in Shanghai on Sunday. This will be the sixth Master series final appearance for the Serbian tennis player in 2012, equalling the record set by Roger Federer in 2006 and equalled by Djokovic himself last year.
TENNIS - Andy Murray defeated Tomás Berdych to reach his fifth career Grand Slam final and giving himself the opportunity to break his duck. The Scotsman has played in four previous Major finals and has lost them all. The only other player to lose his first four is Murray’s current coach: Ivan Lendl. No player has lost his first five.
TENNIS - Andy Murray is one of 21 players (from the 264 faced by Roger Federer is men’s singles matches) to hold a career winning record against the Swiss maestro. The Briton is one of only five players to have established that winning record whilst having faced Federer more than three times.
TENNIS - Andy Murray will enter his fourth Grand Slam final this Sunday, hoping to secure his first Major trophy. Only two players have lost four successive GS finals they have played in and Murray’s coach Ivan Lendl is the only player to lose his first four in the Open era. The other player to lose four in a row, Andy Roddick, won his first Major final before losing the next four.

TENNIS - Andy Murray’s quarterfinal exit at Roland Garros means that his dream of winning a Grand Slam title has been put on hold. This was his 26th attempt at it and although the Scotsman is only 25, the window seems to be closing rapidly. Of 51 players that have won at least one GS title in the Open era, only five needed more than 25 attempts to succeed.
