FOOTBALL - We have our first monthly winner of the 2013 Clausura season. In a wonderful effort and an enormously tight and brilliant race with the other contestants, @G_o_s_h_a has won it on a tiebreaker. Uplifting for the contestants, disheartening for the quizmasters, who are under the impression that they have posed a hard challenge. FOOTBALL - For the last week, our monthly quiz winners battled for the prestigious 2013 Apertura Season Quiz Championship. And they did so in highly prodigious fashion. FOOTBALL - The quiz results for our October Grand Final are in and we congratulate @markvanrijswijk in becoming our October champion and as such is the first to qualify for the Apertura Grand Season Final in March 2013. Our champion produced a jaw-dropping 99 out of a possible 100, as he saw off fierce competition from the other finalists.

FOOTBALL - Andrés Iniesta has been named Best Player of Euro 2012 by UEFA. The mercurial Spanish midfielder was also one of only two players (Italy’s Andrea Pirlo being the other) in the tournament to pick up three Man of the Match awards - in both matches against Italy and in the encounter with Croatia. Iniesta takes over from teammate Xavi, who scooped up these honours at Euro 2008.
