FORMULA 1 - Sebastian Vettel is on the verge of winning a third career Formula 1 drivers’ title. The youngest individual to achieve that feat was Ayrton Senna who completed his treble at age 31 in 1991. Vettel will be 25 years and 145 days old this Sunday and could shatter that record by more than six years.

FORMULA ONE - Ayrton Senna was born 21 March, 1960. When he was 14 years old he began his motorsport career in karting. He made his Formula One debut in 1984. He won the World Championship in 1988, 1990, 1991 and he recorded 41 Grand Prix victories. His 1994 season got off to a disappointing start, leaving him yearning for rehabilitation. The third race was coming and he started in pole position. In lap 7 it all went wrong as he flew out of curve. He died in that race at San Marino on 1 May 1994.

FORMULA 1 - Ayrton Senna would have been 52 years old today, had he still been alive. One of the most revered individuals in the history of motorsports crashed to his death at Imola on 1 May 1994. He is deserving of us remembering him at least twice a year. And we will. He may have saved the lives of many others. He is the last casualty claimed by F1 racing to this day.
