The mercurial Spanish midfielder was also one of only two players (Italy’s Andrea Pirlo being the other) in the tournament to pick up three Man of the Match awards - in both matches against Italy and in the encounter with Croatia. Iniesta takes over from teammate Xavi, who scooped up these honours at Euro 2008.
