FOOTBALL - On Saturday, 1 December, Lionel Messi scored his 83rd and 84th official goals for club and country in the 2012 calendar year, moving him to within one of equalling Gerd Müller’s world record of 85 established in 1972. The Argentine ace still has a possible six matches to play in 2012.
FOOTBALL - Lionel Messi added two goals to his career La Liga total raising it to 186 and joining Carlos Santillana, the former Real Madrid stalwart in ninth place all-time.
