REVIEW: Cancellara emulates Magni and Raas in Flanders

CYCLING - Fabian Cancellara wrapped up his second career Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) win on Sunday, following up on his 2010 triumph. Fiorenzo Magni (1949, 1950 and 1951) and Jan Raas (1979 and 1983) are the only other non-Belgian riders to have accomplished that feat. Cancellara won his 5th ‘Monument’ race (MSR,RvV,PR,LBL,GdL), the highest echelon of Classic races.

CYCLING – Tom Boonen (BEL) won the 96th edition of the Ronde van Vlaanderen for a record equalling third time, joining Achiel Buysse (BEL), Fiorenzo Magni (ITA), Eric Leman (BEL) and Johan Museeuw (BEL). He also joined Museeuw as the only rider to win the cobblestone classics Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix a combined six times.
