RUGBY UNION - On 11 February 2006, Italy hosted England in a Six Nations match in Rome, much the same as will transcend later today. Six years ago, the Three Lions emerged victorious 31-16. Fly-half Charlie Hodgson led the charge with a 6N personal best 16 points, matching the entire production of the Italian team. From the 2007 season to the 2011 season, Hodgson featured in only one Six Nations match before being recalled for the 2012 season. The most points he has scored in ANY Test is the 44 he put up against Romania on his debut in 2001.
RUGBY UNION - Scotland fly-half Dan Parks has retired from international duty with immediate effect. The Australian-born Parks had recorded 97 points in Six Nations matches, putting him only behind Chris Paterson’s 403, second for Scotland in the Six Nations era (2000-present). He had also provided the six points scored by Scotland against England in their 2012 Six Nations opener (won 13-6 by England). However, a Parks kick was charged down by England’s Charlie Hodgson for the decisive try of the match. Parks had played in 10 of the 11 Six Nations matches under current Scotland coach Andy Robinson.
