FOOTBALL - Cristiano Ronaldo has finished the 2013 calendar year on 69 goals in 59 official matches for club and country. He has now netted 60 times in 2011, 63 times in 2012 and 69 times in 2013. Ronaldo netted once against Valencia CF in Sunday’s La Liga encounter, helping his side to a 3-2 away win.
FOOTBALL - Cristiano Ronaldo fired a hat-trick to propel his goals total to 47 for Portugal, equalling Pauleta’s team record. For Ronaldo, it was his second career hat-trick for Portugal, his first having come on 6 September of this year in a 4-2 victory at Northern Ireland.

He has extended his total for CL braces to 16, closing the gap to Lionel Messi’s competition record (17) to one.

In his case, it was also for a foul on a breakaway player, Adán replaced him in goal and Real won 1-0 despite being shorthanded for 88 minutes.
