FOOTBALL – Girondins Bordeaux defeated Lille OSC 1-0 on Sunday, thereby ending their opponents’ streak of 11 French league matches in a row without conceding a goal. The record streak of 12 successive without conceding, which was established in 1993, remains in sole possession of Bordeaux.
FOOTBALL – By defeating Valenciennes 1-0 on Saturday, Lille OSC have kept their 10th consecutive clean sheet in Ligue 1 and become the second side to achieve such a run in the French top flight. Girondins Bordeaux holds the record with 12 clean sheets in a row (Jan-Apr 1993).
> The last player to score a league goal against Lille was OGC Nice’s Darío Cvitanich on 15 September. Lille have not allowed a goal in 945 minutes of league football after that.
