ANALYSE THIS: Germany slight favourites at FIFA Women’s World Cup

FOOTBALL – Germany are the favourites for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, but only just, according to a new analysis from Infostrada Sports. The United States are second favourites and there is nearly 50% chance of the winners being one or the other of these two teams. They are, however, most likely to meet each other at the semi-final stage of the competition.

ANALYSE THIS: Tough task for South American quartet

Football – The matches which began the 2014 World Cup second round on Saturday are both all-South American affairs and each of the countries taking part – Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay – have an incredibly tough route if they are to be successful and win this year’s World Cup. None of the quartet are likely to play another match against a team outside the world’s top eight from now on and, in the case of Chile and Uruguay, they are unlikely to play against a team from outside the world’s current top six.
